BER Puts a Stop to “Berlin Bashing”

[nggallery id=188]

By now, Berlin bashing has become de rigueur. Delays for the re-opening of Berlin’s opera house, a city palace to be rebuilt and nobody knows why, financing problems for the Zoofenster skyscraper, problems with the civic train system (S-Bahn) and protracted struggles to finally open the new airport – Berliners have learned to persevere and comment with their renowned acerbic wit. Of these problems, one stands out the most as far as city residents and media are concerned. Its name: BER. Our idea of using the official IATA code for Metropolitan Area Berlin as the airport’s logo has resulted in BER appearing and being quoted on a daily basis in headlines, petitions, articles, statements, reports – particularly often on the title pages of various media outlets.
