Brunner is redefining how we sit

Our customer – furniture manufacturer Brunner – has collaborated with Berlin-based architect duo osko+deichmann to develop a modular seating ensemble for commercial interiors that redefines how we sit. Brunner wanted to introduce this new product line at this year’s Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. They asked Realgestalt to help them achieve this goal. In close cooperation with our customer and the designers, we worked to put the spotlight on this new loungescape – a significant new addition to the Brunner range. What’s special about this furniture? Both armrests and backrests have been re-interpreted so that, starting with a square base module, variable seating areas can be created over three levels. These allow multiple seating positions, various combinations and means of interconnecting modules, and on top of all this, promote informal communication between people. Yet another modular concept for furniture? That’s nothing new. But a loungescape for commercial interiors that plays an active role in the proceedings? That’s plot.
